Connecting to Protobit

Java Edition

Primarily the PC edition of Minecraft (Not UWP) for those who don't know the difference.

  • Click on Multiplayer
  • Add a Server
    • Alternatively, you can click on Direct Connection if you do not wish to add Protobit to your server list permanently.
  • Type play.protobit.space the 'Server Address' field
    • The Server Name can be changed to whatever you please, however it's suggested to change it to 'Protobit' for clarity.
  • Press Done
  • You should now be able to join.

Bedrock Edition

An alternative version of Minecraft for Windows specifically, and the only edition available for mobile devices, Playstation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch

Friend List

The easiest way to join on all platforms, should be preferred over the method below

  • Click Play
  • Go to Friends
  • Press on Add Friend
  • Find the search field to find players by gamertag, then type in ProtobitMC
  • Add this player as a friend and wait approximately 30 seconds
  • Protobit will now show up in your friends list, you are now able to join.
    • You may need to restart for us to show up on some devices or platforms.


Server List

Note, this does not work on console editions of the game due to strict licensing agreements.

  • Press Play
  • Click on Servers
  • Scroll down until you see Add Server, click on it
  • Type play.protobit.space the Server Address field
    • The Server Name can be changed to whatever you please, however it's suggested to change it to 'Protobit' for clarity.
    • Please do not touch the port
  • Press done
  • Protobit will now show up under Additional Servers
